The temperature of the ionised gas at the Gadget run is raised to 10^7 K - much higher than the Seren run. I think this is the major reason why the gas expands more in the Gadget run. I will modify the code in the same way as the photo-heating has been done in Seren and see what happens there. With Arepo (still running and crashing all the time due to little memory...) the temperature of the ionised gas also rises to 10^7.
